Internet Safety
Lessons in the library and classrooms prepare students to respond wisely when something happens while online. Students are taught:
- Trusted adults should be close by while online.
- Tell a trusted adult if something makes you feel scared, uncomfortable or confused while online.
- Never share personal information. Personal information is anything about you. When someone on the Internet ask you lots of questions ask your parents to talk to them.
- Friends are people we know from school, church, ball field, or dance. We never meet someone we only know from the Internet.
- Cyber Bullying is not acceptable. Teasing, being mean to someone, online is wrong. Tell your parents/teachers if this happens. Parents should save the message and give it to the principal or Sheriff Deputy and block the bully from contacting you.
