Hello! My name is Tonya Sciple, and I am excited to be the counselor at Beauregard Elementary School. I earned a B.S. in Sociology and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Mobile. I also have an M.Ed. in K-12 School Counseling from Auburn University and am a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I recently earned my Education Specialist degree in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Play Therapy from the University of Mississippi, National Certification in School Counseling (NCSC), and credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist. 

As your school counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote our students' academic, personal, social, and postsecondary development.  I support the students, staff, families, and the community.  I meet with students individually and in small groups, conduct classroom lessons, meet with parents, collaborate with teachers and staff, and consult with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all. I have a special interest in incorporating expressive arts and play therapy techniques into my counseling. I believe in the ability of creative expression to enrich the lives of our students and help them discover their individual strengths.

Any student can request to meet with me, or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent/guardian. I encourage you to contact me if you have concerns regarding your child.  

I enjoy spending time with my husband, traveling, watching sports, riding my Vespa, and photography when not at school. I look forward to seeing everyone and having another great year at Beauregard Elementary!
