Mrs. Laura Dunlap
I am so happy to have the privilege of serving the students and faculty of Beauregard Elementary as the Assistant Principal. This is my twenty-eighth year in education. I am a 1993 graduate of Opelika High School. I graduated from Auburn University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I returned to Auburn to earn my Master’s Degree in education in 2002. My teaching career began in 1997 at Smiths Station Elementary as a contract reading teacher. During the same school year, a second grade position opened at Loachapoka Elementary, and I happily accepted the position! I worked at Loachapoka for two years. In 1999, I joined the Opelika City Schools as a fourth grade teacher at Northside School. I spent nineteen years at Northside, teaching both fourth and fifth grade. At Northside, I also held the position of Lead Teacher for nine years. This position offered me my first glimpse into the world of educational leadership. I was able to assist the principal when needed and serve as the administrator in his/her absence. This experience led me to realize how much I wanted to serve as a school leader. I returned to Troy University in Phenix City to earn a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership and Administration in 2015. I love working at Beauregard Elementary and love being a part of the community! It is a wonderful place to be!
