Mrs. Leann Patterson

As a little girl, there was an early interest in playing the role of a teacher. My cabbage patch dolls were my first students. After completing high school, I enrolled in dental assisting school. A year later, I graduated with honors, at the top of my class. With my strong academic achievements, I was rewarded a full scholarship to hygiene school. I quickly realized this was not the path the Lord intended for me to pursue. My desire was to teach was undeniable and could not be ignored. I decided to return to Wallace State to complete my core undergraduate classes. After completing my core classes, I enrolled in elementary school at Auburn University. This was an exciting point in my life. I was on my way to fulfilling my dreams of being a teacher. In 2003, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In 2004, I started graduate school at Auburn University. Luckily, I was hired immediately by Lee County and started my career as a teacher in August of 2004. With my love for learning, I decided to return to Auburn University to obtain a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. In the fall of 2005, I graduated with a Masters in Elementary Education with a 4.0 GPA. Since this time, I have been in the same position at Beauregard Elementary School. I get up each morning with great excitement. I feel extremely blessed to have the opportunity to be involved in a line of work that I truly have a passion for!
