Hello, my name is Melissa Ivey.  I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the WSSES family.  I have been a nurse since 2006, when I graduated as an LPN from CVCC and began working at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital.  I graduated from RN school in 2008, and I began working at St. Francis where I remained until 2015. Prior to being a school nurse, I worked in home health. I feel that my years of experience in both hospital and home settings as well as being a boy mom times 2 will assist me in my new role of being a school nurse.

 

I was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama. My 2 boys, Sam and Wes, are my world!!  While they are both different in many ways, they are very much alike in how kind hearted they are. I couldn’t be more proud or blessed to be their mom.

 

I believe you should ALWAYS treat those you are caring for as you would want to be treated or as you would want your family treated. As the nurse for WSSES I will do just that for every child I meet.
