Hello! Welcome to my class!

My name is Darien Ellis. This will be my tenth year teaching physical education and my first year as a Sanford Middle School Hornet! My lovely wife Larkezia, beautiful daughter Kennedi, and I reside in the Smiths Station Community.

I am a proud graduate of Goshen High School located in Pike County, Alabama! In 2010, I received my Associates of Science degree from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. In 2013, I received my Bachelor of Health and Physical Education from Columbus State University, later earning a Masters in Physical Education from the University of West Alabama.

For the past nine years, I was the physical education teacher at South Highlands Middle School, located in Union Springs, Alabama. In addition to teaching, I coached basketball and football at the middle and high school. I absolutely loved teaching physical education and coaching! I will be bringing that same energy and passion to Sanford Middle School Hornets!

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, coaching my daughter in sports, playing basketball, working in my yard, and training dogs! Yes, my plate is always full with crumbs spilling over the rim! Yet, I am anticipating a phenomenal year with my new school family!!!
