• ABBOTT AND FENNER SCHOLARSHIP
      UPDATED 8-11-22. Deadline to apply is June 10, 2023. Scholarship amount is $1,000. There is no application to apply--just send an e-mail to scholarships@abbottandfenner.com and write a 500-1,000 word essay on the topic "Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals." Be sure to include your full name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and school you are attending at the top of your essay.

    • ALABAMA STUDENT GRANT PROGRAM

      UPDATED 9-1-16. Deadline to apply is September 15, 2016. Alabama residents who have lived in the State of Alabama for at least the past 12 months are eligible for an Alabama Student Grant. Award amount can be up to $1,200 per year. You must be enrolled full- or part-time at one of the following institutions to apply: Birmingham-Southern College, Concordia College, Faulkner University, Huntingdon College, Judson College, Miles College, Oakwood College, Samford University, Selma University, Southeastern Bible College, Southern Vocational College, Spring Hill College, Stillman College, or the University of Mobile. Contact the financial aid office at your postsecondary institution for more information.

    • ALCARH

      UPDATED 8-21-16. ONLY OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF AN ALCARH (ALABAMA COUNCIL FOR AFFORDABLE RURAL HOUSING) PROPERTY. Deadline for applications to be received is March 1, 2017. Scholarship amount is $1,500. You must have at least a "B" average. Applications will be judged on academic achievements, school attendance, work performance, career goals, extracurricular school activities, community activities, and other achievements.     • AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY (ACS) SCHOLARS PROGRAM

      UPDATED 9-10-16. APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON NOVEMBER 1, 2016. Deadline to apply will be March 1, 2017. Scholarships in the amount of (up to) $5,000 will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, a chemically-related science, or chemical technology. Pre-med and pharmacy majors are not eligible to apply. You must be African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino to apply. The application requires a college transcript, high school transcript (freshman only), two letters of recommendation, and a copy of your FAFSA SAR. Visit the website link for the application.

      UPDATED 8-11-22. JUNIORS, SENIORS, AND COLLEGE STUDENTS CAN APPLY. Deadline to apply is May 21, 2023. Award amount is $1,000. There is no application to apply--just send an e-mail to awards@studentawardsearch.com and include a 1,000 (or less) word essay on the topic, "Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual." Be sure to include your full name and the name of the school you are attending this year and next year.

    • COCA-COLA LEADERS OF PROMISE
      UPDATED 8-11-22. Two hundred (200) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each to students enrolled in a community college. For more information and/or to apply, visit the website link above and find the section for 'Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise' and click on the link for www.ptk.org. You will need to create a guest account.

    • DENNY'S HUNGRY FOR EDUCATION

      POSTED 8-26-17. Applications will be available from September 1, 2017 until December 31, 2017. Deadline to apply will be in early 2018. There are numerous scholarships offered with varying award amounts. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on how Denny's can impact childhood hunger in their communities. Visit the website link for more information and/or to apply.

    • IDA MAE ARMISTEAD HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIP

Fifteen $3,500 scholarships will be awarded to full-time college students who have at least a 2.0 GPA and at least one year left in college.
