• ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSITY

      UPDATED 1-16-17. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2017. Several academic and foundation scholarships are awarded to students interested in attending Alabama A&M University in Normal (near Huntsville), AL. Scholarship award amounts vary and start with a minimum ACT score of 23 and a 3.25 GPA. An essay and two letters of recommendation are required. Grant-In-Aid (GIA) packages (ranging from $1,000-$4,500 per year) are also available for qualified students. GIA awards start with a minimum 2.5 GPA and ACT score of 17. Your FAFSA must be submitted prior to March 15, 2017 to be considered for GIA awards.       UPDATED 9-16-16. The Presidential Academic Scholarship (Full Tuition, Fees, Books, Room and Board) is available for students with at least a 3.76 GPA and an ACT score of 26 or better. The Academic Excellence Scholarship (Full Tuition, Fees, Books) is available for students with at least a 3.51 GPA and an ACT score of 22 or better. The Academic Incentive Scholarship (Full Tuition plus $500 for Books) is available for students with at least a 3.0 GPA or better and an ACT score of 20 or better. The Black and Gold Scholarship ($2,000-$4,000 per year) is available for students with at least a 2.75 GPA and an ACT score of 18 or better. You must be the son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of a veteran of World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam Conflict, Beirut/Granada/Panama Emergencies, or Desert Storm War who is also a resident of Alabama. The award amount is $850. Applications require a minimum 3.0 GPA, a photo of you, proof of relationship, a copy of the veteran's service record, a transcript, and three letters of reference.       UPDATED 9-16-16. Army ROTC Scholarships are available for students with at least a 2.5 GPA, a minimum score of 19 on the ACT, and who pass a physical exam. Army ROTC scholarships cover tuition, fees, a book allowance, and a monthly stipend. An eight-year commitment to the Army is required of students being awarded an Army ROTC scholarship.       UPDATED 9-16-16. December 1, 2016 is the deadline to recieve priority consideration for Auburn University Freshman Scholarships. February 10, 2017 is the deadline to be considered for all Auburn University Scholarships (including Freshman, General, and Departmental). You must be admitted to Auburn AND you must apply through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM) to be considered for the following scholarships: the Presidential Scholarship (Full Tuition for four years) is awarded to students with a 33-36 ACT and a 3.5 GPA; the Founders Scholarship ($32,000 over four years) is awarded for a 30-32 ACT score and a 3.5 GPA; and the University Scholarship ($16,000 over four years) is awarded for a 28-29 ACT score and a 3.5 GPA. Students who had a parent/guardian/sibling graduate from Auburn are considered for the True Blue Legacy Scholarship ($4,000-$16,000 over four years) with a minimum 28 ACT score and a 3.5 GPA. Achievement Scholarships and All Auburn Scholarships ($8,000 over four years) are awarded with a minimum 26 ACT score and a 3.5 GPA. General, Departmental, and Auburn Sponsored Scholarships are also available for students who meet the qualifications. National Merit Finalists and National Achievement Finalists automatically receive a Presidential Scholarship and additional stipends.

The AUM Freshman Housing Scholarship is a one-time award that pays 50% of your Spring 2019 housing costs and 100% of your Summer 2019 housing costs on AUM's campus. Scholarships available are: Academic Excellence, Ambassador, Performing Arts (Choral and Jazz Band), and Career Technical Honors. To be considered: Academic Excellence scholarships require a minimum 3.0 GPA; Ambassador scholarships require a minimum 2.5 GPA, an interview, and a presentation; Performing Arts scholarships require a minimum 2.5 GPA and an audition; and Career Technical Honors scholarships require a minimum 2.5 GPA and you must be majoring in one of the technical fields offered at CACC. The Gamecock Scholars award (9 hours Tuition per semester) is available for a 3.0 GPA and a 24 ACT score. The Gem of the Hills Scholars award (6 hours Tuition per semester) is available for a 3.0 GPA and a 22 ACT score.     • JUDSON COLLEGE

      UPDATED 9-19-12. One $56,800 full-tuition scholarship, two $10,000 partial-tuition scholarships, and three $8,000 partial-tuition scholarships will be awarded to be used over a four-year enrollment period. To qualify, you must attend scholarship day on Saturday, September 22, 2012 and have your admissions application on file by that date. The criteria that will be evaluated includes the strength of the curriculum in high school, an interview, and demonstrated financial need.       UPDATED 9-23-11. Mercer University in Macon, GA will be hosting a Scholarship Challenge on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Any student interested in majoring in engineering or technical communication is encouraged to attend. You must have an ACT score on file to attend.     • MISSISSIPPI UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN

      UPDATED 11-15-10. Mississippi University for Women offers a Centennial Scholarship (Full Tuition, Room and Board, Book Stipend, Out-of-State Fees, and $5,000 toward studying abroad), an Honors Scholarship (average award amount is $25,483 over four years and $2,500 toward studying abroad), the University Scholarship (average award amount is $23,000 over four years), and the Reneau Scholarship (average award amount is $12,000 over four years). To be considered for these scholarships, you must attend Scholar's Day, have an ACT score of 24 or higher, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.     • SAMFORD UNIVERSITY--THE BEESON EXCEPTIONAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM

      UPDATED 11-9-11. Deadline to be nominated is November 22, 2011. Scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition, room, board, books, and other fees and is renewable for four years. You must have an ACT score of 29 or higher and a GPA of at least a 4.0 to apply. You must be planning to attend Samford University in the Fall of 2012. You can attend Seton Hall University for the price of most public universities by receiving a $22,500 tuition reduction if you have a minimum ACT score of 27 and are in the top 10% of your graduating class. Students are automatically considered for the institutional scholarships when they apply for admission before December 15, 2017.       UPDATED 8-26-17. Deadline to apply for admission to be automatically considered for academic scholarships at the University of West Alabama is April 15, 2018. Scholarships range from $1,500 to $10,000 per year and are renewable for up to four academic years with a minimum 3.0 GPA. On campus residency is required for two years. Scholarship amounts are determined by your ACT score and GPA. You must have a 21 or higher ACT score and at least a 3.0 GPA to qualify. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian automatically qualify for $2,500 per year. There are also additional scholarships available with different criteria and award amounts. Students with at least a 2.75 GPA, a 19 ACT score, and tentative acceptance to UWA are encouraged to apply. A personal essay and two letters of recommendation are required. However, you must be admitted to UAB by December 1, 2018 to be considered. The Presidential Recognition (Tuition and Fees) is awarded to students with a 30-36 ACT score and a minimum 3.5 GPA. $8,000 is awarded for a 27-29 ACT score and a minimum 3.5 GPA OR a 30-36 ACT score and a 3.0-3.49 GPA. $4,000 is awarded for a 24-26 ACT score and a minimum 3.5 GPA. $2,500 is awarded for a 20-23 ACT score and a minimum 3.5 GPA OR a 24-29 ACT score and a 3.0-3.49 GPA. The Trustees' Merit Scholarship is awarded to students with a 32-36 ACT score and an "A" GPA. The President's Merit Scholarship is awarded with a 29-36 ACT score and an "A-" GPA. The Deans' Merit Scholarship is awarded for a 27-29 ACT score and a "B+" GPA. The Father Chaminade Award is awarded for a 21-27 ACT score and a "B" GPA.     • UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI--GEORGE W. JENKINS SCHOLARSHIP

      UPDATED 8-26-17. Our school can submit one name of a graduating senior to be considered for a full scholarship at the University of Miami. The student must have at least a 3.75 unweighted GPA and be planning to attend the University of Miami in the Fall of 2018. A counselor recommendation and an essay of less than 800 words are required. Student must have strong participation in school and community activities and have overcome significant adversity. The scholarship pays for tuition, fees, on-campus room and board, meal plan, University health insurance, a laptop allowance, and a stipend to pay for books, transportation, and personal expenses. The value is approximately $62,000 per year and is renewable for three additional years. The deadline to submit the name is December 1, 2017. Let Mrs. Owen know immediately if you are interested.

    • WILLIAM CAREY UNIVERSITY

      UPDATED 8-26-17. William Carey University is located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Scholarships are offered for first-time freshmen, transfer students, talent, athletics, Southern Baptist Church-Related Vocation, and Southern Baptist Convention Missionary Dependents. First-time freshmen scholarships are offered for ACT scores of 20 or higher and range in award amount from $2,000-$6,800. Transfer student scholarships are offered for GPAs of 2.5 or higher and range in award amount from $2,100-$6,300. Talent scholarships range in award amount up to $5,800. Athletic scholarships require a minimum GPA of 2.0. Add-on scholarships are also available to pair with some of the scholarships offered.
