• Visual Arts I will introduce and teach students the fundamentals of Art & Design. This beginning-level course provides students with an appreciation for art and skills needed for various art careers. Throughout the semester, students will be taught various lessons on: Art History, Art Careers, Art Media, Art Skills/Techniques and Art Criticism that will allow and encourage them to build a solid foundation and appreciation of the visual arts. In this course you will:

    • Learn about various art media, techniques, and processes.
    • Describe, Analyze, Interpret, & Evaluate artwork.
    • Relate artistic ideas and works with societal, cultural, and historical context to deepen understanding.
    • Research, read, and write about various Artists/Art Styles.
    • Create various works of art
    • Participate in weekly art critiques/present your artwork to the class
